Chelsea transfer news: Blues to do battle with European giants to sign international star

Chelsea are set to do battle with Paris Saint-Germain and Inter Milan in the race to sign Benfica’s Victor Lindelof according to Football Italia (via the Express).

Per-the-source the Blues are looking to sign the Sweden international in January. The report states that Chelsea were also linked with Lindelof over the supper but opted to sign their former player David Luiz from PSG.

However, manager Antonio Conte still wants further reinforcements in defence.

Chelsea will however face competition from Paris Saint-Germain and Inter Milan for the £25 million rated centre back.

Lindelof secured a place Benfica’s starting line-up last season and has continued his fine run of form this season.

The Sweden international has started all of the Portuguese club’s games in the new campaign. The 22-year-old has six caps for Sweden and was part of his nations squad for Euro 2016.

Chelsea take on Swansea City this weekend in the Premier League.
