17-year-old wonderkid and Liverpool target delivers massive blow to Reds as he supported bitter rivals

Liverpool target Christian Pulisic has revealed some news that Reds supporters won’t be too pleased with, as he supported Manchester United.

The 17-year-old currently plies his trade at Borussia Dortmund and is attracting significant interest from Jurgen Klopp.

However, as reported by The Sun, the German tactician missed out on his target in the summer transfer window, but it looks as though he would prefer Manchester over Liverpool anyway.

“I was a big Manchester United fan when I was younger,” the American international told ESPN.

“I loved to watch Rooney. I wouldn’t say I’m a similar player, though. I think his passion for the game is something you don’t see much in players. That’s what I loved about him.”

Time will tell as to how long the talented youngster remains at Dortmund, with Thomas Tuchel overseeing a busy transfer window in which competition for places increased significantly.

With Mario Gotze, Andre Schurrle, Emre Mor and Ousmane Dembele added to the squad, Pulisic could be forced to move on in search of first-team football before too long, but for now he’s relishing the fight for a spot in the starting line-up.

As for his allegiance to United, it’s unlikely to deter Klopp too much if he decides to make another move for the teenager, as ultimately based on his performances thus far, Pulisic possibly wouldn’t take too long to make Liverpool supporters forget all about it.

Pulisic has made nine Bundesliga appearances already, scoring twice, while he also has three goals in eight international matches for the USA.
