(Twitter) Football expert reveals Man United ace set for MRI and wasn’t fully fit for Manchester derby

Man United star Henrikh Mkhitaryan lasted just 45 minutes of the Manchester derby on Saturday, and Gabriele Marcotti has revealed why.

The 27-year-old picked up a problem on international duty last week and wasn’t deemed fully fit to feature, but played in the opening half before Jose Mourinho decided to replace him.

Marcotti has reported that Mkhitaryan will undergo an MRI scan on Sunday to reveal the extent of the thigh issue that he picked up against the Czech Republic, and that would certainly go a long way in explaining his disappointing contribution before being taken off.

While the Armenian international was a surprise inclusion in the starting line-up, Mourinho will now hope that he isn’t sidelined for too long and can go about forcing his way into the team on a more regular basis in the months ahead.
