Barcelona prepare £30m bid for Arsenal star in January transfer window

Barcelona are preparing a bid to re-sign Arsenal star Hector Bellerin in the January transfer window according to The Sun.

Per-the-source, the La Liga champions have set aside £30 million for the Spain international.

Barcelona’s vice president Jordi Mastre even hinted that Barce will bid for Bellerin.

“We’ve already seen him as a Cule! He’s a great player, there’s no doubt about that,” Mastre told the Spanish outlet Sport.

“Wenger convinced him to move [in 2011] and promised him something which we couldn’t.

“We could not promise him that within two years he would be playing in Dani Alves’ place.”

Bellerin left Barcelona for Arsenal in 2011, but he has already been strongly linked with a return. The La Liga giants are on the lookout for a new right-back after Dani Alves joined Juventus on a free-transfer over the summer.

Meanwhile, the Daily Mail state that the Barcelona may face competition from Manchester City for the pacy full-back.

City boss Pep Guardiola may play a major role in persuading Bellerin to move to Manchester however, the Daily Mail claim that City coach Mikel Arteta could also help convince Bellerin to make the move north.
