Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp hints at title hopes

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has hinted that his side are aiming to end the Reds 25 year wait for the League title this season.

However, the German tactician also stated that he cannot say it openly as  ‘everybody will go nuts’.

The former Bourssia Dortmund manager celebrated one year in charge at Anfield on Saturday. Klopp has been a massive hit on Merseyside since replacing Brendan Rodgers but is yet to get his hands on any silverware.

“The more we can talk about it [winning the title], the better it would be,” Klopp told LFCTV.

“I cannot say the one thing, I wish that it would happen, but if I say it everybody goes nuts.”

“I’m completely fine with my squad, good characters, good attitude… the rest you have to develop … we cannot buy to guarantee (success).”

Liverpool came close to Premier League glory in the 2013/14 campaign but fell away in the closing stages of the season.

Liverpool have made a terrific start to the season and find themselves in forth place with 16 points after seven games. The Reds are unbeaten in their last seven encounters and are on a four game winning streak.

Klopp’s side take on their bitter rivals Manchester United in their next Premier League encounter on October 17.
