Manchester United transfer news: Reece Oxford rubbishes claims of new West Ham deal

West Ham United youngster Reece Oxford has rubbished claims stating that he is close to signing a new deal, according to the Daily Mail.

Per-the-source, Oxford has taken to Twitter to laugh off speculation he is close to putting pen-to-paper on a fresh contract.

The Daily Mail states that the 17-year-old tweeted: ‘Been hearing some funny stuff recently’, in response to reading recent reports.

The daily paper goes onto confirm that Oxford was directly referring to talk of a new deal at West Ham.

Oxford has found first team appearances few and far between since making his debut against Arsenal last season. Oxford – who has 18 months remaining on his current deal – was left out of the Hammers team which drew 1-1 with Middlesborough.

Manchester United are in pole position to sign Oxford if he decides to leave.

Bilic has left Oxford out of the team ever since the shock Europa League defeat against Astra Giurgiu back in August.

The Hammers are without a win in their last five Premier League games and take on Crystal Palace on October 15.
