Chelsea striker Diego Costa paid tribute to teammate Willian on Saturday as the Brazilian was absent following the death of his mother this week.

The Chelsea ace was given compassionate leave by the club but was still in his teammate’s thoughts as Costa put up a ‘W’ gesture after his goal opened the scoring at Stamford Bridge on Saturday with the hosts going on to claim a 3-0 win.

Eden Hazard followed suit when he doubled Chelsea’s lead, as they showed their solidarity with Willian and made sure that they let their teammate and friend know that they were thinking about him.

It is undoubtedly an emotional time for Willian, and Chelsea will likely give him as much time as necessary to grieve and deal with the loss of his mother, with the 28-year-old sharing a touching poem on his Instagram account earlier this week, as seen below.

Nevertheless, Chelsea remained focus in his absence and picked up an important win which moves them temporarily up to fifth in the Premier League table as they recorded back-to-back wins which are undoubtedly welcomed by Antonio Conte.
