Chelsea – Manchester United will show how far both teams have come – or not

One fixture stands out head and shoulders above the rest in the Premier League this weekend, as Chelsea take on Manchester United at Stamford Bridge.

Monday night’s dire 0-0 between Liverpool and United will have dampened the hype a bit, and it will take punters a while to shake off the memories of “Dead Monday”, but this Sunday’s game looks to be a great starting point.

Chelsea come into the game on the back of eye-catching wins over Hull and Leicester in their shiny new 343 formation. The Blues have excelled in their new shape so far, but have yet to face a compact and organised team of the quality of Manchester United. Sunday will provide a fascinating test of whether it is the future for Antonio Conte’s side.

United on the other hand will be under a lot of pressure to attack after irritating fans with a defensive display against Liverpool. Chelsea have shown themselves to be a much softer prospect than the Reds this year, and Jose Mourinho has no excuse for playing defensively.
