Arsenal beat Reading 2-0 to progress to the next stage of the EFL Cup. The Gunners dominated the Championship outfit throughout the game however, they did create a few goal scoring opportunities but Emiliano Martinez was on hand to prevent the away side from finding the back of the net.
The Arsenal keeper is currently behind the pecking order with Petr Cech and David Ospina ahead of him but he did manage to keep a clean sheet in his first start of the season and does have age on his side – the Argentinian shot stopper is just 24-years-old.

Martinez is unlikely to break into the first team just yet but his latest display may have increased head coach Arsene Wenger’s confidence in him.
