Arsenal team news: Injury blow ahead of Sunderland clash

Arsenal suffered a double injury blow going into the Sunderland clash over the weekend when it was revealed that Santi Cazorla could miss the game and that Lucas Perez is definitely out according to the Daily Mail.

Per the source, Cazorla who hasn’t played since the Champions League clash against Ludogorets is a doubt and faces a race against time for match fitness.

Perez meanwhile faces a lengthy spell out after suffering an ankle injury and is not expected back until the end of November at the earliest.

In other Arsenal team news head coach Arsene Wenger will be left short of options if Cazorla does miss the trip to Sunderland as Granit Xhaka is suspended.

Should Cazorla fail to make the trip Mohamed Elneny and Francis Coquelin will be expected to start in central midfield.

The Gunners are currently joint top of the Premier League table on 21 points alongside Liverpool and Manchester City on 21 points with just goal difference separating the three clubs.
