Liverpool, Spurs and Arsenal men join Gareth Bale in star-studded Wales squad for World Cup qualifier v Serbia

Wales are unbeaten in World Cup qualifying but, with just one win from their opening three games, Chris Coleman’s side really need to take some points off Serbia in Cardiff next weekend.

Serbia – who come to the Welsh capital on Saturday – will be looking to open up a five-point lead over the Dragons, but they must win in order to do that.

And it won’t be easy to beat Wales, who have named a star-studded squad for the match, including players from Liverpool, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur, as well as Real Madrid forward Gareth Bale.

Liverpool goalkeeper Danny Ward is unlikely to start because of the form and fitness of Crystal Palace stopper Wayne Hennessey, but Spurs left-back Ben Davies and Gunners midfielder Aaron Ramsey are almost dead certs for a place in Coleman’s lineup.

Everton centre-back Ashley Williams will probably captain the side, while Stoke City playmaker Joe Allen will be tasked with passing Serbia to death.

Allen has been brilliant since moving to Stoke from Anfield in the summer. In his first 10 games for the Potters, he has scored four goals and provided two assists.

Carmarthen-born Allen has also hit the net in each of his last two appearances for Wales.
