Tottenham need a UEFA Champions league miracle, says Hugo Lloris

Hugo Lloris has stated that Tottenham are in need of a miracle if they are to qualify to the next found of the UEFA Champions League, according to the Mirror.

The north London based club suffered a 1-0 defeat at the hands of the Bundesliga giants Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League yesterday evening. Kevin Kampl scored the games only goal as Tottenham’s winless run stretched to six games.

The defeat to Leverkusen leaves Spurs in third place with four points, meaning a defeat at the hands of Monaco could eliminate them from the competition.

“It is difficult to accept that kind of performance from us,” Lloris was quoted as saying by the Mirror.

“It was difficult to recognise the team, [normally] very aggressive, very calm under pressure, and today was completely the opposite. We need to learn about the Champions League.

“We worked a lot last season to get into the Champions League and we cannot waste everything. we need to be ready for the next two games are try to get the miracle.”

Tottenham take on their biter rivals Arsenal this weekend in the Premier league. Mauricio Pochettino has decisions to make following an injury to Moussa Dembele.

The Mirror states that Dembele is a ‘major doubt’ going into this weekends clash. Meanwhile, both Toby Alderweireld and Harry Kane both missed last night’s clash and face a race against time to be fit for the north London derby.

Arsenal come into the game in impressive form and are unbeaten in their last 12 games.
