Premier League predictions week 11: Arsenal and Liverpool universally backed, Chelsea and Man United also fancied

This weekend is comprised of two huge days of Premier League action. With 10 games divided equally between Saturday and Sunday, there will be very little time to focus on anything but football.

Editor Rob Summerscales has tweeted out his score predictions below, while we have also rounded up predictions from BBC Sport tipster Mark Lawrenson and Sky Sports pundit Paul Merson.

Rob says: “Manchester City – on a high after beating Barcelona – will simply outclass Middlesbrough.

“I fancy West Ham to lose again at their unhappy home, especially as Stoke are in fine form – unbeaten in five, with three wins in their last three.

“Conversely, Crystal Palace are in dismal form, having lost three in a row, and the Eagles could struggle to match the fight of Burnley, who battled hard to earn a point at Old Trafford last time out.

“Sunderland are easily the worst team in the Premier League right now, so they could well take a thrashing at the Vitality Stadium, where Bournemouth put six past Hull recently.

“On Saturday night, Chelsea will be confident ahead of their game against Everton, but the Toffees are tricky opponents and won’t fear going toe-to-toe with Antonio Conte’s men.

“Moving onto Sunday, the North London Derby should be tight, considering Tottenham’s rock solid defence coupled with their recent bluntness at the other end. However, Arsenal are in fabulous shape, so should have just enough to secure three points and local bragging rights.

“I’ve got a sneaky feeling Hull might spring a shock against Southampton, who could be struckdown by a Europa League hangover, while the same condition could prevent Manchester United from taking maximum points at Swansea.

“Liverpool v Watford looks like the easiest match of the weekend to call. With Jurgen Klopp’s Reds sublime in attack, they should have way too much for the Hornets.

“Finally, I’ll take champions Leicester to confortably see off West Brom. The Foxes look formidable at home.”

Like Rob, Lawro and Merson have also backed Bournemouth, Man City, Arsenal, Liverpool and Leicester to take maximum points this weekend, but they are tipping Chelsea and Man United for wins, rather than draws.
