(Video) Burnley 1-2 Manchester City: Sergio Aguero brace seals win as striker improves sensational record

Manchester City secured a 2-1 win over Burnley on Saturday with Sergio Aguero scoring either side of half-time to seal all three points for his side.

Dean Marney had given the hosts the lead with a stunning strike, and Burnley were certainly the better side early on as they played with great energy and intensity.

However, as they began to fade and with City in the ascendency, Aguero struck with a real poacher’s effort to beat Paul Robinson and ensure that the two sides were level going into the interval.

The Argentine international wasn’t finished there either as he pounced again in the second half to make Burnley pay for some really poor defensive play.

Aguero has now scored 27 goals in 29 Premier League games in 2016, reiterating just how decisive and crucial he is for City as Pep Guardiola’s men return to Manchester with all three points despite the fact that the Spanish tactician made several changes to his team.

With Kevin De Bruyne and David Silva on the bench and with no John Stones or Ilkay Gundogan in the squad, it was certainly a risk from the visitors to make changes for a tough away fixture. However, Aguero ensured that there were no slip ups as City temporarily go top of the Premier League table.
