Real Madrid playmaker James Rodriguez has had a tough season so far this year being in and out of the team, but he showed his class on Wednesday night.
Los Blancos were out to defeat Borussia Dortmund in the final group game to leapfrog their rivals into top spot in Group F and Karim Benzema set them on the right path in the first half.
On that occasion it was Dani Carvajal who put it on a plate for the Frenchman, but for the second it was Rodriguez who produced a superb delivery to pick out his teammate who applied the finishing touch.

Rodriguez has been limited to just 14 appearances in all competitions so far this season with limited minutes, but it was a timely reminder for Zinedine Zidane of what the Colombian international is capable of.
With seven assists to his name prior to tonight, he displayed his creative ability in the final third and on this occasion it was to Benzema’s benefit as he made no mistake to double his tally for the night and move to 50 Champions League goals in total.
