Mesut Ozil revealed to have lost his cool as Arsenal’s title chase takes a significant wobble

Arsenal’s quiet playmaker Mesut Ozil was moved to anger by something in last night’s game against Everton, and clashed with Toffees midfielder James McCarthy according to reports in the Sun.

Everton won the game with a late goal from Ashley Williams, but it was long before the dramatic final ten minutes that things boiled over. As the half time whistle blew there was friction between both sets of players, with Ozil and McCarthy being separated by Duncan Ferguson of all people.

The former Everton striker was famous for his “hard man” reputation and once received a prison sentence for headbutting an opponent on the field.

In this case his martial abilities were limited to just standing between the squabbling players as they left the pitch.

Luckily it seems that the teams were able to sort out their issues on the pitch in the second half, with no repetitions of the incident at full time.
