Pep Guardiola linked with making stunning swap deal to offload snubbed Manchester City stalwart

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is reportedly set to see Leicester City make their move for goalkeeper Joe Hart, joining Tottenham Hotspur in the race to sign him.

The England international is currently on a season-long loan deal at Torino after Guardiola made it clear that he didn’t feature in his plans.

Having been dropped and seen the club sign Claudio Bravo from Barcelona, Hart has enjoyed his change of scenery and regular playing time in Turin, but is reportedly set to be offered various options to return to the Premier League next summer.

According to The Sun, Leicester are big admirers of Hart, and with the risk of possibly losing Kasper Schmeichel at the end of the season if he doesn’t agree to a contract extension, they have started to consider their options.

A shock swap deal hasn’t been ruled out in the report, although that will be dependent on various factors to go through while City also face the prospect of seeing Willy Caballero move on when his contract expires next summer.

That would leave Bravo as the only experienced option between the posts, and so despite interest from Tottenham in Hart, as per The Sun, a deal with Leicester would seem to make the most sense if Schmeichel is involved.

Claudio Ranieri will undoubtedly have something to say about all this as the Foxes boss won’t want to lose the reliable shot-stopper, but a return to his former club with the possibility of being a major figure in Guardiola’s longer-term plans could be enough to convince him to quit the King Power Stadium.
