Atletico Madrid approach Tottenham over the possibility of selling £35M misfit

Atletico Madrid are open to selling striker Kevin Gameiro in the summer transfer window, according to the Mirror.

Gameiro had very much been a bit-part player during his time with PSG, and subsequently joined Sevilla in search of regular first-team football. He found it with the La Liga side, and found the back of the net 67 times in just three seasons at the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuan.

It earned him a move to Spanish giants Atletico Madrid, who, according to the Mirror, parted with as much as £35million to secure the Frenchman’s services.

Gameiro has struggled to replicate his Sevilla form for their La Liga counterparts, and the Mirror believe that Atletico could cash-in on him in the summer transfer window.

The tabloid believe that Atletico they have approached several clubs to gauge their interest in Gameiro if they were to sell. The Mirror believe that one of those clubs is Tottenham, who are in the hunt for quality in reserve for talisman Harry Kane. Gameiro would absolutely fit the criteria for Mauricio Pochettino.
