Tottenham plot £12m raid for teenager as they look to see off PL rivals

Tottenham are reportedly preparing to make a £12m offer for Fulham defender Ryan Sessegnon as they look to fend off interest from Liverpool and Man City.

The 16-year-old has been attracting plenty of interest with his performances for the Cottagers this season, making 30 appearances in total, scoring seven goals and providing four assists.

Having seemingly impressed Mauricio Pochettino previously, The Sun claim that chairman Daniel Levy wants to move forward with the deal and snap up the youngster with Fulham concerned that they could lose him for less if he doesn’t extend his contract.

Further, it’s added that fears over Danny Rose’s future could push Tottenham into action, as they face a difficult summer ahead with ongoing speculation suggesting that several of their key players could be the subject of big-money offers from their rivals.

Despite making steady progress over the last two years, their continued disappointment in terms of winning trophies and their limited wage structure could put pressure on them this summer to fend off interest along with the fact that they’ll be moving into an expensive new stadium the season after next.

Liverpool and Man City’s requirement for a new left-back is obvious and so that explains their interest with Jurgen Klopp keen to find a natural in that position to replace James Milner, while Pep Guardiola will see a number of ageing stalwarts on expiring contracts potentially leave this summer.

In turn, Sessegnon could very well be at the centre of a real transfer scrap between these three Premier League giants, but time will tell if he can be prised away from Fulham and how much they are able to receive for him.
