Former Chelsea winger Pat Nevin has offered one tongue-in-cheek explanation for the Blues’ comeback from behind against Watford over the weekend.
The Scot was on punditry duty at Stamford Bridge as he saw his old club stage a late comeback to prevent what would have been a third straight Premier League defeat in a row.

Despite going 1-0 up early on through Pedro, Chelsea were outplayed by Watford for large periods and went 2-1 down after goals from Abdoulaye Doucoure and Roberto Pereyra.
Having also commentated on Watford’s recent 6-0 thrashing at the hands of Manchester City – the only other time Nevin has been at a Hornets game this season – Nevin feels he is clearly bad luck for Marco Silva’s side.
‘I was walking along the street after the game on my way to a Chelsea supporters’ club meeting when I was pleasantly accosted by some Watford fans and they seemed pretty confused,’ Nevin wrote on Chelsea’s official website.
‘They had just lost 4-2 but felt pretty happy with their team’s performance. I made it worse for them by explaining that I had been to see their side twice this season and the aggregate score is 10-2 against them (Man City hit them for six remember).
‘In both cases they actually played quite well, so we agreed that the problem is actually me, I am their jinx and should not come back to see them any time soon.’
So there you go, Chelsea. Make sure you get Nevin along any time you’re playing Watford.
