Top of the table Wolves take on Fulham in the headline game from the Championship tonight (KO 19:45).
Molineux should be jumping and the atmosphere electric as the Black Country side look to extend their lead at the top of the table with victory over the Cottagers this Friday night.
Wolves regained top spot in the Championship thanks to a convincing victory over fellow promotion hopefuls Norwich in midweek. Nuno Espírito Santo’s side got back to winning ways after a shock defeat to QPR and host Fulham under the floodlights at Molineux on Friday night.
Without a win in four Fulham are yet to hit the heights of last season and currently sit 16th , six points off the playoffs. After failing to beat rock bottom Bolton and losing to Bristol City in back to back home games the Cottagers are back on the road, and games don’t get much tougher than Wolves away who have lost just once at home all season.
The hosts are expected to field a similar team to the one that beat Norwich last week. Phil Ofosu-Ayeh remains sidelined through injury.
As for Fulham, they’ll be without Sheyi Ojo and Lucas Piazon due to injury and Aboubakar Kamara is suspended after being sent off in the Bristol City defeat.
Fulham haven’t kept a clean sheet in ten games, so goals should be guaranteed. Léo Bonatini has been in excellent form since his summer move to England and already has 9 league goals to go with 4 assists.
The Brazilian is 9/2 to open the scoring and 17/10 to score anytime. Both look excellent value.
Despite their recent run of bad form Fulham have been decent away from home. They’ve recorded three wins, two draws and two defeats on the road and I wouldn’t be surprised to see them get a result in the Midlands.
Wolves vs Fulham Match Prediction – Can the Cottagers bag the away win?
There is 4/1 on offer from a few firms for the Fulham away win and that is something of a dangling carrot – its a price I just can’t bring myself to ignore, despite the West London side facing the Championship leaders.
Can Wolves put the pressure on those around them by opening up a four point lead at the top of the table or will Fulham bonce back with all three points?
Friday’s clash sets to be an intriguing battle, but for me the Fulham away win looks plenty big enough or the Draw/Fulham double chance at evens looks a very tasty bet and should set us up nicely for the weekend.
