Manchester United’s pursuit for Portuguese defensive star hots up as Juventus join the battle

Juventus have made an approach for Manchester United target Diogo Dalot with the battle for the young Portuguese star hotting up.

Italian sports outlet CalcioMercato have reported that Juventus have made approaches to meet with the agents of the 18-year-old who has also been linked with Manchester United.

It would appear that the Italian champions are looking to strengthen their backline after losing two of their most crucial stars this summer. Dani Alves departed to PSG while Leonardo Bonucci controversially completed a deal to Italian rivals AC Milan.

Dalot is just 18-years-old and is yet to have even featured for his club side Porto’s first-team having only made appearances for the Porto B team. Despite his lack of experience it appears that he could be in the middle of a tug of war between three of Europe’s biggest clubs in the form of Man United, Real Madrid and Juventus.

18-year-old Diogo Dalot is one of hottest young talents in world football.

Real and United are both also struggling with backline injuries, it is therefore no surprise to see the two clubs interested in the youngster. Real have become frustrated with Frenchman Raphael Varane who has been plagued by recurring injuries while the Red Devils have struggled to keep the likes of Phile Jones and Marcus Rojo fit with the latter yet to feature this season.
