It was a good weekend for Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger after he led his side to a 2-0 win over Tottenham in the north London derby at the Emirates.
Now, focus switches to FC Koln in the Europa League on Thursday night before a return to Premier League action against Burnley at Turf Moor on Sunday afternoon.
However, it appears as though the French tactician is still basking in the glory of last weekend as he took a moment to share a joke with BT Sport reporter Reshmin Chowdhury, as revealed in her tweet below.
‘Me: By the way, I support Spurs AW: Really? You have an illness… Me: I can assure you Arsene, I’m in great health… AW: Yes but you are ill on the inside!’
It just goes to show that the veteran tactician still has a sense of humour after all the criticism that he has faced in recent times along with all the talk of a ‘power shift’ in north London as Tottenham outperformed his side last season.
While it would have undoubtedly been a lift for all concerned at Arsenal to get one over their rivals last time out, they must now follow it up with more positive results to prove that they can compete for major trophies this season.
If they fail to do so, then the smiles might quickly disappear in favour of scowls and concerned looks as Arsenal have to respond this season having dropped out of the top four last year.
Telling Arsene Wenger I’m a Spurs fan. Attempted this part in French, just for fun. Conversation as follows:
Me: By the way, I support Spurs
AW: Really? You have an illness…
Me: I can assure you Arsene, I’m in great health…
AW: Yes but you are ill on the inside!
