Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger would have enjoyed last weekend, as the focus was on his side’s impressive win over Tottenham in the north London derby rather than him.
However, fast forward just five days later, and it seems as though some supporters are upset again following Arsenal’s 1-0 defeat at FC Koln in the Europa League on Thursday night.
Despite the fact that the Gunners still managed to secure top spot and qualified for the round of 32, there were many who were left unimpressed with what they saw during the game, and they also took exception with some of the personnel decisions from the veteran tactician.
It’s strange to see such calls for ‘Wenger out’ return so soon after the weekend, and it just goes to show that there’s a fine line for the Frenchman at the Emirates as he’ll constantly be under pressure.
While it’s never nice losing, it’s arguably more important that Arsenal produce a top performance and secure the right result away at Burnley this weekend, as that’s a true test of whether or not they can use the win over Tottenham as a platform to build some momentum and really put together a strong bid to finish in the top four at least, and perhaps aim even higher.
