Everton held Chelsea to a frustrating 0-0 draw in the Premier League in today’s early kick-off at Goodison Park, which will surely go down as two points dropped for the Blues.
Lacking inspiration in attack, Antonio Conte’s side’s best opening came midway through the first half as Phil Jagielka’s heroics on the line kept it goalless.
Man of the match
It’s a close call between a fairly uninspiring bunch, but it probably goes to Everton defender Phil Jagielka for clearing away Chelsea’s best chance and for keeping things tight for Everton at the back throughout.
The Toffees certainly look more solid under Sam Allardyce, and Jagielka has played a key part in that, particularly with his display this afternoon.
Flop of the match
This could apply to most Chelsea players, but Pedro will perhaps feel particularly disappointed with himself today.
The Spanish winger isn’t having the best of seasons and was fairly anonymous for much of his time on the pitch against Everton.
Stat of the match
Yep, this pretty much summed things up…
