Manchester United and Liverpool could miss out on the transfer of Gareth Bale as Real Madrid want to offer him to Tottenham as part of a move to sign Harry Kane.
The Spurs striker has been in superb form again this season and is seemingly a top target for Florentino Perez as he seeks to bring in upgrades on his current front three of Bale, Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema.
None have been at their best this season and Kane could be a major improvement, and Don Balon claim Perez would be prepared to send Bale back to Tottenham in a bid to land the England international.
Another recent report from Don Balon claimed Bale had opened talks with the likes of United and Liverpool, whilst also mentioning a return to Spurs as a possibility.
A long-running saga, Don Balon also reported that Liverpool could be front-runners for the Welsh winger and pay as much as £88million to bring him to Anfield.
Still, a swap deal that could see Real land one of the best strikers in Europe would obviously be ideal for them if possible.
It remains to be seen, however, if a return to Tottenham is likely for Bale, who could be viewed as being out of their price range, especially considering his age and recent fitness struggles.
