Luis Enrique wants £53million attacker transfer for Chelsea, could be ideal Eden Hazard replacement

Former Barcelona manager Luis Enrique is reportedly keen to sign Borussia Dortmund attacking midfielder Marco Reus if he takes over at Chelsea, according to Don Balon.

The Spanish tactician is apparently a fan of the Germany international, having previously been recommended him by another old Barca boss Pep Guardiola.

Don Balon add that Reus would likely cost Chelsea around £53million, though the club’s hierarchy are unconvinced about spending so much on the player given his recent injury record.

The Germany international has played just 63 Bundesliga matches in the last three seasons, and has not looked quite like reaching his peak level for some time.

Still, at his best, Reus was long regarded as one of the top forward players in Europe after a superb start to life at Dortmund, having also impressed at his previous club Borussia Monchengladbach.

Chelsea could, however, do well to gamble on the 28-year-old if they end up losing a star forward of their own in the form of Eden Hazard.

Another report from Don Balon has today claimed Real Madrid are growing confident of signing the Belgian attacker after initial talks with him over a move to the Bernabeu.

Reus is a similarly skilful and creative wide-forward who looks like he could be a great fit at Stamford Bridge if he could keep fit.

Dortmund surely won’t want to lose another big name, however, having lost Ousmane Dembele to Barcelona in the summer and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to Arsenal in January.

The Daily Star recently linked Enrique as a candidate to replace Antonio Conte at Chelsea, while bookies Ladbrokes today has him as 2/1 favourite after the Blues’ embarrassing 4-1 defeat to Watford last night.
