Arsenal securing £187M triple transfer swoop for La Liga duo and Premier League ace could make club serious title contenders once again

Arsenal have been in somewhat of a rut these past few seasons. Despite signing stars such as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette this season, the Gunners still stumbled to a sixth place finish in the league and ended the season trophy-less.

It doesn’t take an expert to see that the north London side aren’t what they used to be, and that it’s going to take a fair amount of work to get the club back to what they were at the start of the decade.

Not since the 2013/14 season have Unai Emery’s side been viewed by fans as being serious title challengers, and not since the start of the decade have the club been in the title until the bitter end.

The Arsenal squad itself is somewhat weak and unbalanced to say the least. Despite having a whole host of options in attack, the club have often looked weak at the back in recent times.

So, we’ve picked out three players who, if the club end up signing, could seriously improve the quality of their squad and give them the boost in ability they need to become serious challengers for the Premier League title once again.

Isco – £70M

Arsenal have been linked with a move for Isco in the past as per Diario Gol, and considering the player’s ability on the ball, it’s clear to see why.

The Real Madrid maestro has been a key part in Los Blancos’ side this past few seasons, with the Spaniard playing a big role in the club winning three consecutive Champions League titles.

The player has a reported price tag of £70M (€80M) as per Don Balon, a fee that would be an absolute steal for a player his quality, and one that is capable of replacing Mesut Ozil in the club’s starting line-up.

Isco could be the creative force Arsenal need to become title challengers once again

Heung-min Son – £62M

Despite playing for the Gunners’ fierce rivals Spurs since his move from Bayer Leverkusen a few years back, Son would still surely be welcome at the Emirates going by just how good he actually is.

The South Korean international has been mightily impressive for the Lilywhites since his arrival, with the player scoring 47 goals and bagging 26 assists in 140 appearances for Spurs, a fantastic return for a wide man.

With stars such as Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain no longer at the club, and players such as Alex Iwobi not having the standout ability to deliver and create from out-wide, as well as score goals, Son would be a perfect signing for Emery’s side.

As per Sport1, the player is a target for Arsenal and is set to cost at least £62M (€70M), a fantastic price for a player who is always certain to get to double figures in goals and assists every season.

Son Heung-min is a rumoured transfer target for Arsenal and would be a great signing for the Gunners

Lucas Vazquez – £57M

When given the chance, Vazquez is often known to excel for Real Madrid, with the player often being used as an effective impact substitute in key games for Los Blancos.

The Spaniard doesn’t start very often, however when he does, he tends to make his mark on the game more often than not, something that has seen him be valued by Madrid fans.

According to OKDiario, the Spaniard is a target for the north London side this summer, and as per Don Balon, the player would cost around £57M (€65M), a decent price for a player who would seriously improve the club’s options on the wings.

Arsenal signing Vazquez would give their options out-wide a huge boost in quality

Should Arsenal sign these three aforementioned stars, there’s absolutely no reason why new manager Unai Emery can turn the Gunners into the big guns they used to be, and turn the club into the one of the most dangerous side’s in the entire Premier League, and get them back where they belong: challenging for the title every year.
