Liverpool’s world-record transfer swoop for Roma goalkeeper Alisson will be official soon, the club’s director of football Monchi has confirmed.
The Brazil international has been strongly linked with the Reds by a variety of sources, and it doesn’t look like the club have too long to wait now until the signing is announced.
Alisson shone in his time at the Stadio Olimpico and looks a hugely exciting purchase for Liverpool, who have long looked in need of a top class signing in goal.

Monchi seems to have confirmed good news for LFC is now imminent, with Italian football journalist Fabrizio Romano quoting him on Twitter as confirming the world-record deal for a goalkeeper is set to be official shortly.
Monchi has also been quoted as discussing the deal via Roma’s official Twitter feed, saying that nothing is completely done yet, but that he is currently in Liverpool to finalise the transfer.
He moved to defend his decision over the sale, though the point remains Roma have now lost two star players to Liverpool in the last two summers, having lost Mohamed Salah a year ago in what looks a huge error as he exploded into the form of his career in his first year on Merseyside.
