Chelsea and Spurs have both been somewhat quite in the transfer market this summer, with the London sides only managing to bring in a total of one player between them.

The clubs’ lack of activity this summer is something that their fans surely won’t be happy about, however it seems as if the duo are still keeping an eye out for players.

As per Don Balon, both Spurs and the Blues are interested in signing Real Madrid and Croatia midfielder Mateo Kovacic, however they aren’t alone, as the report also notes that Italian giants AC Milan are keen on the player as well.

The story also states that the player is wanted by Man United, however Kovacic himself doesn’t want a move to Old Trafford this summer, so it seems as if Chelsea and Spurs will have just AC Milan to beat either of them want to sign the 24-year-old this summer.

Chelsea and Spurs are both set to do battle with Milan in the race to sign Kovacic this summer

Kovacic, who Los Blancos have an £80M asking price for as per Sky Sports, would be a fine signing for either side, something that may have been casted into doubt by some fans following his failure to play consistent first team football for Real since his arrival.

The former Inter Milan star managed to make 21 appearances for Julen Lopetegui’s side last season, however these games only saw him clock up a total of 988 minutes.

In total, the Croatian has only scored three and assisted eight for the Spanish giants in 108 games, a record that won’t fill fans of either Chelsea or Spurs with confidence.

However, the player still has loads of ability and potential in his locker, and would definitely make a great signing for both Premier League sides this summer.
