Manchester United made what now looks a big mistake in last summer’s transfer market by passing on the chance to sign Harry Maguire.
The Leicester City defender, who was then at Hull City, ended up moving to the King Power Stadium instead and is now valued at a whopping £75million, according to the Telegraph.
United were interested in Maguire this season after his fine form for Leicester and the England national team at this summer’s World Cup, but they could have had him for £60m less if they’d had their wits about them.

Instead, the Telegraph note that the Red Devils forked out £31m on flop signing Victor Lindelof at the back instead.
The Swede has not impressed at Old Trafford so far, and Maguire would surely be the superior option in that area.
It has proven a frustrating summer for United, who failed to bring in a new centre-back despite numerous links with Maguire an other high-profile names for the last few months.
With this Maguire story, it seems clear United could do with taking a leaf out of Liverpool’s book, with the Reds joining Leicester in raiding Hull last summer for the bargain buy of Andrew Robertson.
