AC Milan transfer news: €120m demand for target, shirt numbers touted as duo on verge of joining

AC Milan are reportedly closing in on a double swoop for Diego Laxalt and Samu Castillejo, while Sergej Milinkovic-Savic remains linked too.

The Rossoneri are set for a busy end to the transfer window with the deadline for Italian clubs on Friday, as Gennaro Gattuso looks likely to welcome more new faces to bolster his squad.

One key area that was in need of attention was the lack of depth and pace in the wide positions, and it appears as though Castillejo will address that while Laxalt could arrive to provide additional competition for Ricardo Rodriguez on the left flank.

As per MilanNews.it, the pair are close to securing moves and it’s even suggested that while Laxalt will wear the No.93 shirt when his switch becomes official, Castillejo is lining up the No.29 jersey at the San Siro this season.

With Milan looking to compete on multiple fronts this season, the arrival of the duo gives Gattuso additional options and quality, and so it remains to be seen how influential the pair can be in helping the Italian giants get back into the top four in Serie A to secure qualification for the Champions League.

Meanwhile, there could also be one marquee signing late in the window for the club too, but Calciomercato report that if Milan wish to prise Sergej Milinkovic-Savic away from Lazio, they will have to splash out €120m to convince their rivals to sell.

That is a lot of money for the 23-year-old, but having shown that he has the talent to potentially become a world-class player as he continues to develop, it remains to be seen whether or not Milan are convinced about paying that kind of money and if they have the financial capabilities to spend big.
