Real Madrid are going to have to fork out €75M if they are to want to bring Borussia Dortmund midfielder Julian Weigl to the club this summer.

As per the Sun, who are re-reporting and translating from France Football, the Bundesliga outfit have slapped a €75M (£68M) price tag on the German international.

Don Balon noted last month that Real boss Julen Lopetegui has asked the club to sign the German, and that the club would be willing to offer €50M for the player, an amount that doesn’t seem enough following this more recent report from the Sun.

Real are going to have to dig deep into their pockets to sign Weigl this summer

With Real not having a lot of quality back-up for key midfielder Casemiro, signing Weigl would be a smart move from Los Blancos.

The 22-year-old has shown during his time with German giants Dortmund that he’s capable of cutting in one of the world’s best and toughest leagues.

Weigl, despite being quite young, has already managed to cement his place in Dortmund’s starting line-up, as last season the midfielder managed to make 25 appearances in the league as his club secured a fourth-placed finish.

Weigl’s composure on the ball and wide passing range would make him a great addition for Real, now all that remains is to see whether the club are willing to fork out the aforementioned €75M to bring the player to the Spanish capital.
