Deadline touted for Barcelona star to seal exit, La Liga giants have idea of outcome

Real Betis will reportedly wait until the end of this week to reach a deal for Barcelona’s Rafinha before potentially moving on to other targets.

The transfer window remains open in Spain until August 31, and so it remains to be seen what deals are done in the final week.

Despite impressing during his loan spell with Inter in the second half of last season, during which he played an important role in helping Luciano Spalletti’s men qualify for the Champions League, Rafinha’s name continues to be linked with an exit from the Nou Camp.

According to Mundo Deportivo though, if he is to secure a move to Betis, it may well have to be agreed upon by the end of this week as the La Liga outfit reportedly don’t want to face a late scramble to wrap up a deal or potentially be forced to move for an alternative at the last minute.

In truth, it’s a pretty sensible approach to have, and so now the pressure will be on to see if an agreement can be reached, although Mundo Deportivo also hint that Barcelona believe that the chances of Rafinha staying at the club are greater than him leaving.

Given that the 25-year-old appears to now be set to build some momentum after impressing in Italy following his previous injury woes, it may be a sensible decision from Ernesto Valverde to keep him around as squad depth at least with Barca perhaps still lacking something in midfield.

Although they moved to replace Andres Iniesta and Paulinho with Arthur and Arturo Vidal, Rafinha could offer a different dynamic in that department, but time will tell if Betis get their man or are forced to look elsewhere next week.
