Philippe Coutinho not in favour of seeing Barcelona seal last-minute transfer of talented European star

Barcelona superstar Philippe Coutinho isn’t in favour of the club bringing in PSG and France midfielder Adrien Rabiot.

This is according to Don Balon, who note that one of the reasons why Coutinho isn’t keen on Barca signing the Frenchman is that his arrival would see Rafinha, one of Coutinho’s friends, leave the club.

The report also notes that Coutinho thinks Rabiot’s arrival wouldn’t boost the quality of Barca’s squad all that much, and that one player Coutinho would be happy seeing arrive at the Nou Camp is Man United’s Paul Pogba.

Coutinho’s isn’t a big fan of seeing Rabiot arrive at Barca should it happen

It’s hard to see why Coutinho wouldn’t want to see Rabiot move to Barca, even if it means Rafinha will be shipped out.

The French international has been a key player in Real Madrid’s side these past few seasons despite him being at the young age of 23.

The player has managed to cement himself in PSG’s midfield despite the club already having stars such as Angel Di Maria, Marco Verratti and Giovani Lo Celso, all of whom can do a job in the centre of the park.

Rabiot would most likely struggle for game time should he move to the Catalan giants, as the club boast midfield stars such as Ivan Rakitic, Sergio Busquets, Arturo Vidal and Arthur Melo to name a few.

Only time will tell if Barca do end up signing Rabiot this summer, however if they do, it’ll definitely be a deal that gets over the line at the last minute given the fact that the window shuts on Friday.
