Barcelona reportedly turned down the chance to sign now-Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah last summer, with the club opting to move to Ousmane Dembele instead.

This is according to Don Balon, who note that the Egyptian international was offered to the Blaurgana by Roma, and that they turned down this offer to bring the former Chelsea man.

The report also notes that Ernesto Valverde’s side turned down the chance to bring in Salah as their main target was winger Ousmane Dembele, a player they did actually end up signing.

Barca didn’t sign Salah last summer as they wanted to bring in Dembele from Dortmund

Barca fans will be desperately sad to hear this news, as Salah proved this season just gone that he is one of the best players on the planet, and would’ve definitely been a quality addition to the club’s squad.

The Egyptian’s goals for the Reds played a big part in the club reaching the Champions League final and securing a top four finish in the Premier League.

Salah’s similar play style to Lionel Messi would’ve made him the perfect replacement for the Argentine in Barca’ side.

It’s not often we see the Blaugrana make mistakes in the transfer market, however on this occasion, we’re sure they definitely have, and have most likely been rueing their decision ever since!
