Barcelona continue to be linked with a big-money move for Man Utd midfielder Paul Pogba next year, and their senior stars reportedly approve of the idea.
As per The Guardian, the French international raised doubts over his future at Old Trafford this month by suggesting that he wasn’t entirely happy.
It comes amid a difficult start to the season for the Red Devils given that they’ve lost two of their opening three Premier League games, and so it would be a major blow for Jose Mourinho if they lost their midfield star.
According to Don Balon, Luis Suarez is aware of Barcelona’s interest in the World Cup winner, while it’s added that along with Gerard Pique and Lionel Messi, they would welcome a possible deal for Pogba albeit it’s suggested that he has a whopping €150m valuation from United.
This isn’t the first time that Pogba has been linked with Barcelona, with the Telegraph pairing them with a move earlier this month. Meanwhile, BBC Sport note that Pique has even spoken publicly about the matter and conceded that Barca would be happy to welcome the Frenchman to the Nou Camp.
That would all therefore seem to back the claim of a possible deal in 2019, but much will obviously depend on whether or not the Catalan giants can convince United to sell a player who remains crucial to their plans moving forward.
Should a deal be agreed, based on Pogba’s comments on his happiness, he could perhaps welcome the possibility of playing alongside the likes of Pique, Messi and Suarez which would undoubtedly add a huge jump up in quality for the reigning La Liga champions to target major honours on multiple fronts.
Nevertheless, time will tell if a move materialises for Pogba, as much can change between now and January and perhaps next summer depending on when Barcelona make their touted move.
