Angel Di Maria was roundly booed on his return to Man Utd on Tuesday night, and he didn’t get a particularly warm welcome from former teammate Ashley Young either.
The Argentine didn’t have the greatest of seasons at United in the 2014/15 campaign, and the frustration over that seemingly hasn’t disappeared yet.
Di Maria was jeered by the home faithful every time he got the ball in midweek, but that wasn’t the worst of it in the first half.
As seen in the video below, as he went to chase a lost ball, he was given a shove from Young which sent him flying off the pitch and into the railings in front of the supporters.
In truth, it looked like a nasty drop for him off the side of the pitch, and having already been booked, Young could arguably count himself fortunate not to have received a second yellow.
However, he escaped a second booking, and Di Maria eventually got back on his feet and continued, with the reaction from the United fans heard in the video below.
