Manchester United are set to do battle with Champions League opponents PSG in the race to sign Benfica midfielder Joao Felix, a player who’s been likened to United icon Cristiano Ronaldo.

Felix, who predominantly plays in an attacking midfield role for Benfica, has been in great form this season, something that seems to have caught the eye of both United and PSG.

As per Don Balon, Felix’s performances this term have seen the player compared with Portuguese legend Cristiano Ronaldo, with United and PSG, as well as Barcelona and Real Madrid, all vying for the player’s signature.

The report further states that United and PSG entering the bidding for Felix means that the player could end up going for around £43M, a fair price to pay for a player of the midfielder’s quality.

Felix has been on fire for Benfica so far this season, with the 19-year-old managing to bag a total of nine goals and five assists in 23 appearances in all competitions, a fantastic record for an attacking midfielder.

United look to be in need of a midfield player who’s capable of sharing the creative responsibilities with Frenchman Paul Pogba, and judging by this report, it looks like Felix could very well be the man for the job.

If United are serious about improving their squad, it’d be wise to go all out to try and beat PSG to the signing of Felix before the French giants get there first.
