Big-name manager ready to accept West Brom job following talks

Former West Ham and Croatia manager Slaven Bilic is reportedly ready to accept the West Brom job after holding talks with the Championship club.

According to the Daily Star, the 50-year-old is now looking the leading contender for the job with the Championship club, who missed out on promotion last season after a defeat to eventual playoff winners Aston Villa in the semi-finals.

Bilic has plenty of experience and looks a strong candidate for the position at West Brom, who will want to aim big this summer and challenge for promotion to the Premier League again next season.

The Baggies have spent much of their recent history in the top flight, and in Bilic they’d surely have a manager with the know-how to get them back there.

West Brom sacked Darren Moore back in March but have been yet to appoint a permanent successor, with Jimmy Shan taking charge of the first-team for the end of the season.

Since leaving West Ham, Bilic has managed Al-Ittihad, though he left the job in February and is now available.
