Bids rejected: Barcelona turn down multiple transfer offers for €100M-rated star as club stand firm on ace’s future

Barcelona are said to have turned down a multitude of offers from different sides for defender Nelson Semedo.

Semedo has found himself going in and out of Barca’s starting XI since his arrival from Benfica in the summer of 2017, with Sergi Roberto sometimes being preferred to start at right-back over the Portuguese international.

However, despite Semedo failing to cement his place in the Blaugrana’s starting XI during his time with the club, it seems like the Spanish giants aren’t willing to let him go any time soon.

As per AS, as re-reported and translated by Football Espana, Barca have rejected multiple offers for the defender, with the club unwilling to let him go this summer.

According to the report, not one of the offers came close to matching Semedo’s €100M release clause, with none of the bids even exceeding a total of €50M.

Semedo has been a very useful player for Barca during his two seasons with the club, and given this, we can see why the club wouldn’t want to let him leave this window.

Semedo is the only top-class right back in Barca’s first team squad, and letting him go would seriously weaken their options in that area.

Barca have rejected a number of bids that have come in for Semedo

Given Semedo’s level of performances for Barca, it’s easy to see why a number of offers have come in for him, however given that none of them even came close to matching his release clause, it seems like the defender is going to stay with Barca this year should no improved offers come in for him.
