Meghan Markle almost ended up being a football WAG instead of a member of the Royal Family.
According to various gossip sites, the 38-year-old former actor was long on the lookout for a wealthy British husband, and nearly ended up with former Chelsea, Arsenal and England star Ashley Cole.

Markle was said to have chatted with friends about potential single men to hook up with, and exchanged a few flirty messages with Cole before deciding against it.
The former left-back notably cheated on his ex-wife Cheryl Cole, and this supposedly put Meghan off from taking things any further.
The American is now married to Prince Harry and the pair recently moved to Canada to escape the British press.
It would certainly have been interesting to see how different things would have been if she’d ended up with Cole instead!
She is also reported to have considered dating actor Max George and model Oliver Cheshire.
