£360m trio in, £222m quartet out: Man Utd’s stunning potential XI if they clinch Kane & Sancho transfers, plus Pogba sale

Manchester United could be about to embark on a memorable transfer window as a host of star names are strongly linked with moves to Old Trafford.

Here’s a look at the latest Man Utd transfer gossip and how that might translate to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s line up on the pitch next season…

IN – Kane, Sancho, Koulibaly

There is growing talk of Jadon Sancho being likely to make the move from Borussia Dortmund to United this summer.

The England international is a hugely exciting talent and could cost as much as £120million if he is to move in the coming months, according to the Daily Mirror.

Despite being able to play for almost any club in the world, Bleacher Report state he loves the idea of linking up with Solskjaer’s side, while the Telegraph have also reported on the Red Devils looking to be in pole position for this deal.

Joining him to form a star-studded new-look attack could also be Harry Kane, whose future at Tottenham looks in real doubt as the Telegraph report he could leave if the club don’t win silverware, with his asking price likely to be £150million.

This has since been followed up by Goal talking up United as seemingly Kane’s preferred destination if he is to leave north London, and given the need for a new striker at the club, we imagine MUFC would jump at this chance.

Finally, Calciomercato have recently suggested United are leading the chase to sign Napoli centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly as he’s made available for £90m, which seems a pretty generous price for one of the best defenders in the world – a player the Evening Standard claim Solskjaer rates extremely highly.

OUT – Pogba, De Gea, Sanchez, Smalling

You may be wondering – how on earth are United going to afford spending £360m on just three players? Well, Man Utd’s recent spending down the years would suggest it’s not too out of character for them to pay a huge amount on big names, but of course player sales would surely also be needed.

Recent transfer rumours suggest, however, that there could be plenty of names heading out of Old Trafford as well this summer, which could give the club that much-needed cash boost.

It is being strongly suggested time and time again that Paul Pogba’s time at MUFC is coming to an end, with the print edition of Tuttosport, as reported by Calciomercato, suggesting that he will be on his way out of the club this summer and that his asking price will be around £130m.

Despite Pogba’s struggles in Manchester, they shouldn’t struggle to find a buyer somewhere who would be willing to pay something like that for a player who has shown he can be world class in the right setup.

Meanwhile, another high-profile name who could be shown the door is the struggling David de Gea, with a report from Don Balon claiming he has an admirer in Paris Saint-Germain, with on-loan young shot-stopper Dean Henderson in the frame to replace him as number one next season.

Transfermarkt claim De Gea’s value is around £54m, so the Red Devils can surely expect decent money if they do let him go, and if Henderson is promoted to number one, that’s a replacement signed at zero cost.

Elsewhere, the print edition of Italian paper Tuttosport, as translated by Sport Witness, have also claimed Alexis Sanchez could make his move to Inter Milan permanent this summer for potentially as much as £21m. The Chilean makes sense as a player United will want out as soon as possible, and if they can get that much for him after his rapid decline, they’ll be laughing.

Chris Smalling is another loanee who could make his move away permanent as Calciomercato report that MUFC want around £17m to sell him to Roma or other clubs this summer.

If we’ve done the maths right, that would be a net spend of just £138m for United this summer – perfectly affordable for a club with their resources, and of course there could be a few other sales to help supplement that, with Anthony Martial, Andreas Pereira, Jesse Lingard and Phil Jones among those the club could conceivably also look to offload if the money was right.

Manchester United’s potential 2020/21 line up in full:

You have to admit, this is one hell of a team. If Man Utd can indeed pull this off, it would surely turn them into title contenders again next season.

The Maguire-Koulibaly partnership could really blossom into something special, and Bruno Fernandes is a good enough signing to ensure Paul Pogba isn’t missed at all.

Meanwhile, a front three of Kane, Sancho and Marcus Rashford could be up there with the best in Europe and give United a team to match some of the great sides that have stepped out at Old Trafford…
