Video: Pundit suggests scrapping internationals to ease fixture pile-up because of Covid-19

With the coronavirus pandemic still having a tight grip over football world-wide, both from an economical and playing standpoint, the issue of fixture congestion has reared its ugly head again.

There doesn’t seem to be a week that goes by at the moment where the more successful teams in each league are playing every midweek as well as at the weekend.

With FA Cup and Carabao Cup fixtures also to throw into the mix from January, Simon Jordan has come up with a novel way to deal with the issue.

He told Jim White on talkSPORT that international fixtures should be scrapped, and clubs should play kids in the cup competitions so they’ll probably get knocked out in the first round.
