That’s according to The Athletic, who claims the Burkinese defender is attracting some high profile attention ahead of the summer transfer window.

Tapsoba, 22, joined Bayer Leverkusen in January 2020 after making a £16.2m switch from Portuguese side Guimaraes.

Since his arrival in Germany, the young defender has impressed immensely.

Having already featured in 61 matches, in all competitions, Tapsoba has firmly cemented his place in Hannes Wolf’s first-team side.

However, despite still having a whopping five years left on his current deal, The Atheltic claim Premier League side Arsenal is now interested in a potential summer move.

The outlet claim any proposed deal would not be easy to complete though, especially considering the defender would cost within the region of £50m and also has ambitions of playing in the Champions League – a competition the Gunners have failed to qualify for next season.

The Athletic also note that alongside Tapsoba, the Gunners’ hierarchy is also keen to land midfielder Martin Odegaard and Norwich City’s Emi Buendia.
