Arteta eager to bring £50m star to Arsenal as transfer funds made available, Man Utd & Liverpool also in the race

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is reportedly keen to seal a transfer deal for Brighton defender Ben White this summer.

The England international has shone in the Premier League and now has his chance to impress at Euro 2020 this month, which could boost his profile even further.

White already has plenty of admirers, with Arsenal joining the likes of Manchester United and Liverpool in pursuing the £50million-rated centre-back, according to the Daily Mirror.

The Gunners would do well to beat those clubs to a signing like this, with White likely to be a major upgrade on their other defensive options at the moment.

If Arteta can land his man with the transfer budget the Mirror say he’ll have available, it could do the Spanish tactician the world of good in trying to get his side back into Europe next season.

Ben White is being strongly linked as a target for Arsenal

Man Utd also need a signing in defence, however, with White surely an improvement on unconvincing duo Victor Lindelof and Eric Bailly.

The Red Devils weren’t far off challenging Manchester City for the title last season, so a signing like this could be money well spent to make them a bit more solid at the back.

Liverpool, meanwhile, probably don’t need White as urgently as their rivals after agreeing a move for Ibrahima Konate in that area of the pitch.

Still, Jurgen Klopp’s side had plenty of injuries at the back last season so might well feel it’s worth signing two new centre-backs just in case.

  1. mr ARTETA should stop disturbing us all the time with lots of defnders issues and priortise on bringing good forwarders to the club

  2. Arteta is not putting confusion to anyone guys , let him sell all the players that are not necessary to him and bring all type of his players then we start judge him .So alk is well , maybe he want to offload the current CD’s on our dissposal and bring what he rates well , we’re still in the transfer and thus the right time to do so .

  3. Oswald:- I have been siding with Arsenal since 1946 and at 89 still follow the team. Arsenal had some great managers, but I am afraid that Mr Arteta thinks that you could build a team by buying the best on the market. Arteta has made many glaring mistakes after having success when Emery left. I have a feeling that because he has passed his first test saw in his second a confusing selection which lead us in the 10th position. It seems to me that Mr.Arteta when
joining Arsenal had enough cash to buy players
thinking that he could win honours at random .
Well, when I read this Arsenal column I feel that
Mr Edu should have scouts to see the progress how the loaned players were getting on and not to run around mentioning names which for all and purposes might not fit in the team.
Arsenal have lost some fine players who were transferred with the result Arsenal have a team
with no beginning and an end.

  4. This is nonsense both the mikel, edu and kronken family.you’re doing stupidity to we supporter
