In the end it turned out to be one of those games for Chelsea.
A match which they had dominated for the best part of 80 minutes before the Blues allowed Burnley’s Matej Vydra to grab a scarcely deserved equaliser.
Indeed, it was from just two efforts on target that the Clarets managed in the entire game.
Thomas Tuchel’s side badly missed its figurehead in Romelu Lukaku. Kai Havertz scored a masterful opener, but there’s no doubt that the west Londoners are a much more forceful attacking outfit with the Belgian in situ.

The boos that rang out around Stamford Bridge after the game told it’s own story, with Vydra’s goal enough for the visitors to grab a point at Stamford Bridge.

The result also means that Liverpool can close within a point should they win their match on Sunday at West Ham.
It sent the Chelsea faithful into meltdown on social media, with some already giving up the title at this early stage.
Overall very poor from Chelsea and why they won’t win the league. A real inability to finish off cannon fodder

Very painful match to watch knowing that Chelsea was playing like they were 10 zero up. Very awful in the final 3rd. Barkley killing the opportunity he has been giving I won’t be surprised if he is sold finally

That’s more disappointing than losing 3-0, we’ve absolutely dominated that game yet dropped 2 points.

Stupid loss of a great opportunity to increase the lead at the top of the table. Yes, we have multiple scorers but we need to bring a real goal scorer in January. Sell Pulisic and Ziyech. Too much baggage being carried up front. You simply can’t drop points at home to Burnley.

I don’t know the kind of mentality our players have, once they score just a goal, they will all relent.
They won’t push attack anymore, so annoying.
They all are correct. Barkley should have never being involved. The opportunities he missed speak for themselves. As for Pulisic and Jiyech must go. A team of such magnitude is unheard to loose such a victory.
I also believe Tuchel got it all wrong and we shouldn’t expect to win with his alchemy.
What a disappointment!
Killing off d games is all what we need at this moment.
In football anything can happen, we should not begin abusing players, they will loose morarol.
Some Of Our Players Have The Inconsistency, that’s what killing us now! scores should be more than one but the attacks doesn’t work well to end.
This game reminded me of the old Chelsea before Tuchel. Lots of wasted chances. We need a good substitute striker to back up Lukaku. Lack of composure in front of goal is killing us. I also think Loftus Cheek is a creative enough midfield player and should have started if he was healthy instead of Barkley. He’s also more of a team player. But we need to be patient. This is still a rebuilding project.
Tuchel, sould not played Jorginho and Kante together when facing teams that keep parking the bus. One of them is good enough and should partner a creative midfielder that also can score .
Another mistake, why bring in the subs so late, (at 83 minutes , 5 minutes after Burnley scored) and why take out Hudson.
Should had the sub at 70 minutes and replace either Jorginho or Kante to get the second goal. Or bring another defender to shut the door.
We need to gamble to win.
