When Harry Maguire scored against San Marino on Monday night, his celebration was a little more muted than the one after he scored against Albania.
On that occasion, the Manchester United centre-back first cupped his ears and then put his fingers in his ears, and the inference was entirely obvious.
It was always going to mean he would get criticism from certain quarters, although talkSPORT’s Andy Goldstein has been one pundit to come out in support of the player.
? “I don’t have a problem with Harry Maguire’s celebration whatsoever.”
? “They’re just normal people. It’s just all that raw emotion coming out.”
