Chelsea dealt huge blow with Barcelona striker having no intention of joining

Chelsea have been dent a further blow in their bid to sign Barcelona star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang after reports stated that the former Arsenal captain had ‘no intention’ of joining the Blues.

Aubameyang joined the Blaugrana on a free transfer back in January after falling out of favour with Mikel Arteta at the Emirates Stadium over his poor ambassadorial behaviour.

Since his move, the Gabonese star has impressed at the Nou Camp with 13 goals in 23 games as the giants aim to hoist themselves back to the top table of European football, a position that they occupied for many years over the last decade.

With the additions of Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha, Jules Kounde and Franck Kessie to name but a few, Xavi’s side are in a position to challenge for trophies once again despite their financial worries.

But despite reports linking Aubameyang away from the club with a move to Stamford Bridge, Mundo Deportivo state that Aubameyang has no intention of moving back to the English capital where he spent the peak years of his career.

The publication claims that despite Lewandowski’s arrival, Aubameyang remains committed to the cause and looks forward to the competition that the Pole will offer on the east coast.

The pacy hitman is not willing to move just six months after signing a three-and-a-half-year contract under Xavi, a place where he has fought to be for four years of his career whilst also holding a key role in their new project.

And that poses more problems for Thomas Tuchel, who is determined to replace Romelu Lukaku after the Belgian departed for Inter Milan on a loan deal until the end of the season.

Chelsea are set to line up with Kai Havertz as the spearhead in their attack as they travel to Everton for the season’s opener on Saturday.
