Manchester City
Barcelona have always been interested in Bernardo Silva, but honestly now is way too early to predict their summer moves – we know Barca situation with Financial Fair Play so plans will also depend on the outgoings, they need to change the salaries situation. The interest remains but it’s not even a negotiation now.
Manchester City will complete Maximo Perrone deal in the next days — as all parties are working to get documents sealed. It’s almost done, as already called in December. I understand Pep Guardiola spoke to Argentina U20 coach Javier Mascherano about Perrone and his potential.
Manchester United
Wout Weghorst is one of many players offered to Man United as a smart, cheap option for January window. Ten Hag appreciates Weghorst and so they are now exploring conditions of the deal with Besiktas and Burnley also involved in this story because of the loan move agreed last summer. The player would be keen on the move.
I think he can be a good short term option, but for sure Man Utd need an important player in that position in the summer, in my opinion. Still, January is not an easy time to get signings, so for now this looks like good business if it goes through.
John Murtough on Man Utd plans: “We won’t be busy in Jan but it’s no secret that we’re looking for a new striker. We already spent £200m in the summer. We are already well under way with our planning for next summer.”
Marseille
Plan confirmed for Ruslan Malinovskyi. He’s going to travel to Marseille later this morning, as expected. €10m deal, €3m add-ons — loan with obligation to buy so it’s a permanent move. Documents have already been signed between clubs with Atalanta.
RB Leipzig
Josko Gvardiol on his future: “My plan is that I stay here. I think everyone has seen Max Eberl’s statement. I’m okay with that.”
This all seems to point towards a potential transfer in the summer and not in January, as things stand.
Real Madrid
Marco Asensio and Real Madrid have been in conversations for long time over new deal. At the moment, no final progress yet – we will see in the next months how it will continue. Asensio would be open to Premier League or any other big league experience one day, but priority now is still for Real Madrid talks.
Roma
Despite fresh links with Arsenal, Tammy Abraham will stay at Roma in January for sure, that’s never been in doubt. He also scored yesterday a key goal against Milan. At the end of the season, we will see in general what happens with Jose Mourinho and Roma’s decisions on players, but nothing is happening now.
